As a group, we believe we provide the most extensive coverage of railroad car history. The other sites belong to Dave Casdorph and Eric Neubauer. Each site lists the owner's publications along with price and ordering information. In addition, each site offers regular editorial features and reference materials which can be downloaded for free and are designed to promote an interest in railroad car history.

All of the Freight Cars Illustrated publications are released on Compact Disc (CD) in Adobe's Portable Document Format (.pdf) and are viewable on all computers with Adobe's free Acrobat Reader. Each FCIX volume contains hundreds of high resolution, full color roster and detail photographs, as well as corresponding data for each model or series of cars. Each photo-packed volume covers a specific topic (cars by a specific manufacturer, cars used in a specific service, cars rostered by a specific railroad, etc.).
